    Spirit Week

    Near the beginning of each year, there is a week designated as Spirit Week for the entire school (K-12). This is a time for costume days and special events at lunchtime. All students will want to participate to show their school and team spirit. It is a time of enjoyment and team building with the student body and staff.

    Welcome Back Retreat

    The High School Welcome Back event, a unique Olympic event happened last August 12-13. The rare and creative competitions started in the morning on the FIA campus. Afterwards, the students stayed at a resort in town then returned to campus Saturday noon.

    The High School (HS) music curriculum offers two different year-long courses annually. Our Music Performing Ensemble classes—Bandestra (Instr. Music) and Choral Sounds (Vocal Music)—alternate years, so that only one highly developed HS performing ensemble class occurs during a given year.

Talent Show Auditions are October 21; only 9 school days after the quarter break! Let’s celebrate the different talents God has given us; be it musical, comedy, dance, speaking or acting, all ages are welcome! Audition sign up forms will be available next week in the Academic and High School Offices, and are due Thursday, October 13. Start practicing now! ~~Karissa Pattison, Activities Coordinator


International Day is Friday, November 11. If you are interested in running a booth representing either your home country or a country you have lived in, please contact me! We ask each country booth to provide some educational information about the country as well as to prepare a “taste” of the country. The goal of this event is to celebrate the different nations that are represented in our community, and to also be an educational activity for the students to learn about other parts of the world. High School Game Night will be on Friday, October 21st, from 7:00-9:30 pm. We are asking each class to bring snacks: Freshmen-Drink, Sophomores-Salty, Juniors-Sweets, and Seniors-Salty. We hope to see you at 7:00 pm on the covered court! ~~High School Student Council

Our 2nd season of FIA Athletics has begun! This year our girls basketball athletes will be combined into one program with a Team B and a Team A. This week our FIA Girls Basketball Team B will play against Thompson Christian School at 8:00 am this Saturday (October 22nd), and the Team A will play against Rizal Memorial College-High School at 9:00 am. The FIA Boys Soccer Team will be also playing against the Rizal Memorial College High School boys soccer team this Saturday at 8:00 am. A reminder for parents, if both parents leave the city for a short time (over 2 days or more), it is required by administrative policy that a guardian be designated for their children. Please inform FIA by completing a Guardian Form designating the local adult-in-charge in case of an emergency. You can request a form from any FIA office. ~~Leadership Team
