Opportunities for the school year 2021-2022 

Instructional Positions

Secondary English Teachers (grades 6-12)


FIA is seeking to recruit trained, dedicated and enthusiastic English teachers. The high school position would teach a variety of courses in grades 9-12, from freshmen to the AP level (if possible). The middle school position would teach literature, and possibly grammar and writing, for grades 6-8. Flexibility to teach other courses, such as Bible or electives, is a benefit. A trained teacher with 1-2 years of experience is preferred.




Secondary Social Studies Teacher (grades 6-8; grades 9-12 electives or AP)


FIA is seeking a trained teacher for middle school social studies (grades 6-8), who may also be willing to teach a high school elective or AP social studies course. Middle school social studies courses include world studies, Greek/Roman and medieval history, and American history. Flexibility to teach other courses, such as Bible or electives, is a benefit. A trained teacher with 1-2 years of experience is preferred.




Secondary World Languages (Spanish, French, German, etc.) (grades 9-12)


FIA is seeking trained teachers for our world languages and culture courses in the high school division. In recent years, four levels of Spanish and French have been offered, but the school curriculum is flexible to incorporate other languages as well (i.e., German, Korean, Japanese, Latin, etc.). Courses would be taught in English with the goal of non-native speakers learning a foreign language. A trained teacher with 1-2 years of experience is preferred.




Computer/Technology Teacher (grades K-5; 9-12)


FIA is seeking a creative, motivated computer teacher for the high school division (grades 9-12). Current course offerings in computer/technology are limited, so this is a great position for those who want to help expand the program. Specific position expectations would be coordinated with the FIA administration based on the teacher’s background, expertise, and desire. Flexibility to teach other courses, such as Bible or electives, is a benefit. A trained teacher with 1-2 years of experience is preferred.




English Language Learner Teacher (K-12)


FIA is seeking a nurturing, committed teacher for our English Language Learners. Many of FIA’s students speak English as a second (or possibly third) language. This teacher would provide critical help to our students struggling with English. This position would also include collaboration with and training of other instructional staff in effective strategies for ELLs. A trained teacher with 1-2 years of experience is preferred.




Special Education Teacher / Coordinator (K-12)


FIA is seeking a nurturing, qualified teacher to teach our students with learning differences. This position also includes collaboration with other instructional staff to provide the best education possible for each of our students. Flexibility to teach other courses, such as Bible or electives, is a benefit. A trained teacher with 1-2 years of experience is preferred.




Full-time Substitute Teacher


FIA is seeking a flexible teacher to serve full-time as a substitute teacher. This person should be willing to substitute teach (with lesson plans provided by the teacher) in any class from K-12, including core and non-core classes. This person should expect to be on campus full-time each day and be willing to take on additional responsibilities, since substitutes are not always needed. A trained teacher is preferred.




Secondary Math Teachers (grades 6 - 12)


FIA is seeking at least two trained, dedicated, and enthusiastic Math teachers. The high school position would teach a variety of courses in grades 9-12, from freshmen to the AP level (if possible). The middle school position would teach general math and pre-algebra for grades 6-8. Flexibility to teach other courses, such as Bible or electives, is a benefit. A trained teacher with 1-2 years of experience is preferred.




Librarian


FIA is seeking two librarians to serve in the high school and elementary school libraries. These roles would include circulation, book care, collaboration on book purchases and future library plans, coordination with high school teachers for reading incentives, and possibly monitoring some high school study halls. A trained librarian with 1-2 years of grade school experience is preferred.





Support Positions (Non-instructional)

Business Administrator


FIA is seeking a personable, organized business administrator to join the FIA team. This person should have a finance background, preferably with a business or accounting degree; school finance training or experience is an added benefit. This role includes facilities and budget responsibilities as well as managing the qualified staff in the business office. Integrity and fiscal responsibility are critical for this role. A qualified person with school experience is preferred.




School Counselor


FIA is seeking a qualified school counselor with a heart for serving and nurturing our third culture kids. Training in cultural transitions and school counseling would be very beneficial. A qualified person with 1-2 years of experience is preferred.




Recruitment Coordinator (all school)


FIA is seeking an energetic, creative, and committed recruitment coordinator. FIA is staffed mainly by missionaries who are often transient, so recruiting missionary staff is critical to the school’s sustainability. Effective organizational and communication skills are vital for this position.




Facilities Manager


FIA is seeking a personable, organized facilities manager to join the FIA team. This person should have a property background, preferably with institutional experience; apprenticeship or trade experience is an added benefit. This role includes managing the facilities budget as well as managing the qualified staff in the facilities team. Integrity and fiscal responsibility are critical for this role. A qualified person with 1-2 years of experience is preferred.




HR Coordinator (all school; missionary staff)


FIA is seeking a human resources coordinator to work with the supported (missionary) staff. The position would include member care, spiritual and emotional support, cultural support, and help for new staff members transitioning to Davao. This is a new position, so a creative and visionary person would have the opportunity to work with the FIA administration to further define the role. A counseling or human resources background would be a benefit.




Development Director (all school)


FIA is seeking a development director to spearhead marketing efforts, mainly focused on recruiting and retaining additional missionary staff. Another important component of the role would be strengthening the school’s brand and improving the quality of school publications.




Canteen and Catering Supervisor


FIA is seeking a personable, organized canteen manager to join the FIA team. This person should have a food service background, preferably with institutional experience; apprenticeship or hospitality experience is an added benefit. This role includes managing the canteen budget as well as managing qualified staff. Integrity and fiscal responsibility are critical for this role. The FIA canteen primarily provides lunch for students and staff each school day. A qualified person with 1-2 years of managerial experience is preferred.




Curriculum Coordinator


FIA is seeking a personable, organized curriculum coordinator to join the FIA team. This person should have analytical skills to process student test data and make recommendations. They should also have a passion to assist and coach teachers in effective instructional strategies. A qualified person with 1-2 years of experience is preferred.
